During its years of operation, General Yacht Carpentry (DeckYacht) has been consistently focused on expertise and it has developed valuable know-how in its field. As a result, it is now established as the leading supplier of high quality shipbuilding carpentry solutions and applications, both in Greece and worldwide. The company’s specialization fields include the prefabrication and construction of interior and exterior teak decks, ceilings and gunwales, as well as any kind of interior and exterior cabinetmaking in yachts.
Georgios Nomikos & Co. GP is a family business that has achieved perfect balance between traditional values and modern construction techniques and the advantages they offer. Its founder, Georgios Nomikos, was just 15 years old when he started to get involved with the craft of traditional boat carpentry at the “home” of shipbuilding, Perama. Even today, when the management of General Yacht Carpentry (DeckYacht) has been passed on to the next family generation, the founder is present at the shipyard, imparting his knowledge, experience and, most importantly, his passion for shipbuilding to the company’s craftsmen, who make up a dedicated group of people in love with this unique craft!
On this day, the helm of General Yacht Carpentry (DeckYacht) is in the hands of Ioannis Nomikos, an experienced entrepreneur and craftsman who adopts all innovations in the field, so as to fully meet the advanced market requirements within Greece and abroad. He is the one now setting the course towards development, following the "compass of wisdom" imparted by none other than his own father, Georgios, so as to ensure that every move made towards evolution fares well.
As a result, the Greek company of General Yacht Carpentry (DeckYacht) is a traditional business with international influence, successfully competing with large international market players. It is one of the only two companies in the shipbuilding base of Perama that hold a license for the construction of wooden yachts, while it also has ‘credentials’ in relation to its collaboration with top players in the shipping industry all over the globe.
